Introduction to quilting on your home machine. We will explore free motion and walking foot techniques to practice your own designs. Create a small wall hanging utilizing Jen Kingwell's book, Green Tea and Sweet Beans, while learning the Needle turn method of applique. Come learn this unique way of foundation piecing a log cabin block that originated on the Isle of Man. Strips are hand pieced onto a foundation square that becomes the back of your quilt. This quilt as you go method does not use batting. Since the strips are folded, it adds to the thickness of the block. Once the initial pieces are cut, there is no measuring, no seams to match, and no need to worry about the size of your seam allowance. Seem intriguing? Join us to make this fun and addicting block!

For those who have taken Carol’s Beginner class and want to continue to advance their skills, this quilt is for you. It is a combination of easy and challenging blocks. You will learn new skills such as 60 degree triangles, stitch and flip technique, square in a square and the dreaded Y seam. This quilt will surely increase your piecing skills. So, if you’ve taken Carol’s beginner class or are a very confident beginner, come join us and create this beautiful quilt top!

The Advance Design Workshop (ADW) is a small group of quilters whose focus is on unique surface design. Working from a full range design aesthetic from historical to non-traditional, members are encouraged to follow their own personal interests while seeking mutual critique and support. This is a chapter of the National Society. A lovely group of applique crazy women meet once a month. Don't be intimidated to come and check it out, there are women of all different skill levels. They have lots of fun. For more info, call the shop. $5 per session

Enjoy 4 hours of uninterrupted quilting time. This is a great block of time to finish holiday gifts, some of those UFO's. Meet with other quilters, share ideas, and stories. We always have coffee, tea and nice desserts. $10 per session

What is slow stitching? It's about stitching a slow sewing project by hand. It's about hand embroidering a sampler for fun. It's about hand appliqueing, and cross stitch.
